No scientific consensus on GMO safety

到底基改食物安不安全?歐洲的 European Network of Scientists for Social and Environmental Responsibility(ENSSER)這個平台上,共有三百多位跨領域科學家發表了一個聲明,「強烈否定所謂基改安全性的科學共識」,這群簽署的科學家和專家們逐項分析重要的基改爭議,一一陳述正反意見,最後獲致的結論是,面對基改作物和食品的安全性,從現今種種科學證據當中所能肯定的共識就是:沒有共識!

  1. 對轉基因食品安全沒有達成共識(There is no consensus on GM food safety)
  2. 沒有流行病學研究調查轉基因食品消費對人類健康的潛在影響(There are no epidemiological studies investigating potential effects of GM food consumption on human health)
  3. 科學和政府機構認可轉基因生物安全的說法被誇大或不準確(Claims that scientific and governmental bodies endorse GMO safety are exaggerated or inaccurate)
  4. 歐盟研究項目沒有提供轉基因食品安全的可靠證據(EU research project does not provide reliable evidence of GM food safety)
  5. 數百項研究清單未顯示轉基因食品安全(List of several hundred studies does not show GM food safety)
  6. 對轉基因作物的環境風險沒有達成共識(There is no consensus on the environmental risks of GM crops)
  7. 國際協定表明,人們普遍認識到轉基因食品和作物帶來的風險(International agreements show widespread recognition of risks posed by GM foods and crops)
