由於國際生物炭先導計畫（International Biochar Initiative, IBI）的極力推廣，生物炭從 2009 年的哥本哈根氣候論壇（COP 15）開始備受關注。我早期也十分心儀這種可以帶來土壤很大改善的低科技（low-tech），只是，當我翻閱更多的土壤資訊時，我發現，貿然的將生物炭放入土壤是一件風險不小的事情。
